At St. Soldier College (Co-education), Jalandhar, an ‘Adopt a Tree’ project was organized by the Eco Club as part of the national campaign “A Tree in the Name of the Mother.” College Director Dr. Veena Dada, Principal Dr. Manjit Kaur, Vice Principal Dr. Paramjit Kaur, and Eco Club Incharge Ms. Seema Rani, along with all the faculty members, took a pledge to plant trees and care for them with the aim of keeping the environment pollution-free.
Dr. Veena Dada explained the meaning and importance of the Eco Club to the students and encouraged them to plant trees as well.
As part of the project, five groups were formed with the names Gulmohar, Guldodi, Marigold, Rose, and Lily. Each group included ten students along with faculty members. They were assigned specific plots of land to maintain and protect. This initiative by the Eco Club is an important step towards improving the environment.
